Tendencias 21 has recently reported a new university ranking, the QS World University Rankings. Such news was not a satire, as we made here some time ago about university rankings, ---but real.
Here are the top ten universities in this new ranking:
1. University of Cambridge
2. Harvard University.
3. MIT.
4. Yale University.
5. University of Oxford.
6. Imperial College London
7. University College London
8. University of Chicago.
9. University of Pennsylvania.
10. Columbia University.
I have not read the methodology, it was not necessary. The method might be OK, but one could think that the final statistics may have been done in one of these traditional London pubs, given its results. Four English universities, inside or near London, in the top ten. Above Stanford, Berkeley, Princeton or Caltech. A city (London), where, (by chance?) it seems that the headquarters of the company that elaborates the ranking are located.
Other people use another method to elaborate rankings. It is called "Mirror". One looks himself at the mirror, or in the local map, and that's best.
(Note: the Spanish version was originally reported here: http://www.tendencias21.net/satiras/admin/page/4502635/ )
